Manchester United fans are all saying the same thing about Christian Eriksen after a ‘top class’ moment for Denmark last night.
Eriksen was a key name for the Danes last night as they ran out 3-1 victors against Kazakhstan in an EURO 2024 qualifier.
Rasmus Hojlund also featured. The Manchester United striker obtained an assist as he continues his fine form.
But it was a Christian Eriksen assist that got people talking, although it did get United fans somewhat infuriated.
Christian Eriksen’s assist
Eriksen played a simply ludicrous outside of the foot through ball which resulted in a Robert Skove goal.
His teammates were amazed and so was his gaffer. National coach Kasper Hjulmand called Eriksen’s action “top class“.
United fans frustrated
Despite the fantastic assist and performance, it’s left some United fans more than a little frustrated.
“He never plays like this at United,” one writes.
“This club is dead,” another begins. “All our players hit their peaks when they play for their countries or anywhere else but it’s different when they’re in a united shirt…. finished club.”
“What is this with our players on international duty? They play so amazingly beautifully but at club level it’s all rubbish,” a third adds.
Another agrees: “Why do they play so bad for Manchester United???”
“Why do all our midfielders try harding only for the national team?” a fifth adds.
A final agrees: “What are not getting right at United? All our players are ballers for their national teams.”
It’s understandable, but there’s reasons behind it
It is frustrating, but it’s often a different ball game for the national side. Particularly in Denmark’s setup, Eriksen is deployed in a much more creative role, with a lot of freedom.
The quality of opponents is also much worse. He had so much time on the ball here and you never really get that in the Premier League.
We should be seeing this as a positive. Eriksen has clearly still got it. He just needs to replicate moments like this in Manchester now.
