Manchester United fans have now dropped their clear-cut feelings on Ayden Heaven after the player’s performance against Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils returned to Premier League action for the final time in the 2024-25 campaign only days after Manchester United’s Europa League defeat to Tottenham.

United fell short to Tottenham in the Europa League final on Wednesday evening and Spurs sealed the UEFA trophy at the San Mames Stadium in Spain.

Brennan Johnson was the difference-maker on the night and the 24-year-old’s opener for Tottenham against United in the first half proved to be the winner.

Following United’s failure to capture the Europa League trophy in Bilbao, the Red Devils returned to England for their final Premier League match this weekend.

Ruben Amorim’s men welcomed Aston Villa to Old Trafford and the Red Devils started the Premier League clash languishing in 16th place in the table.

United’s form has been nothing short of abysmal in the 2024-25 season and the Red Devils lost four of their last five Premier League matches ahead of the Villa tie.

The Red Devils sign off the season with their worst finish in Premier League history and Ruben Amorim faces a huge task ahead of him in reviving United’s fortunes.

United will miss out on Champions League football for the 2025-26 campaign after failing to beat Spurs and will be without any European football next season.

Man Utd fans react to Ayden Heaven after the final Premier League match of the 2024-25 campaign vs Aston Villa at Old Trafford

Ruben Amorim rotated his Manchester United first-team squad and Ayden Heaven came into the three-man backline for the Aston Villa match at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Ayden Heaven saw out 66 minutes in Amorim’s tactical system for United before he was withdrawn in the second half and replaced by Jonny Evans at Old Trafford.

United fans on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, praised the performance of Heaven in the Red Devils’ final Premier League match of the season.

One X user said: “Ayden Heaven is going to have a massive season. So excited for him.”

Someone else commented: “Ayden Heaven, take a bow. Amazing first season. The future of Manchester United.”

While a fourth Red Devils supporter posted: “Ayden Heaven is going to be class for us. Great player!”

A fifth added: “Ayden Heaven is top quality, man. [Leny] Yoro [plus] Heaven partnership for years to come is very promising.”

“Can’t wait to hopefully see more of Ayden Heaven next year; what a player,” somebody else posted.

Another claimed: “Ayden Heaven is excellent. So lucky to have him [and] Yoro.”

And an eighth suggested: “We have a real player in Ayden Heaven. Such a bright future ahead.”

What happened in the Premier League clash between Man Utd and Aston Villa at Old Trafford?

United started off the first half strong against Villa at Old Trafford, but Amorim’s men went into half-time with a 0-0 scoreline after failing to make the breakthrough.

However, Unai Emery’s men were reduced to 10 men deep into first-half stoppage time after Emiliano Martinez’s reckless challenge on United striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Amad Diallo broke the deadlock and put United 1-0 up in the 76th minute before Christian Eriksen doubled the Red Devils’ lead from the spot-kick in the 87th minute.

United will now start their post-season tour on Wednesday and the Red Devils will face ASEAN All-Stars in a friendly at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Malaysia.

The forthcoming encounter between United and ASEAN All-Stars in Bukit Jalil is slated for a UK kick-off time of 1:45pm.
