Manchester United have received two nominations for the U18 Premier League’s Player of the Year award.
It has been a positive season for Manchester United’s under-18s so far.
Despite losing the Premier League Cup final, Darren Fletcher’s side can still win the U18 Premier League and FA Youth Cup.
Several academy prospects have stood out throughout the season, but just two have been nominated to win this year’s U18 Premier League Player of the Year.

JJ Gabriel and Albert Mills up for U18 Premier League award
The Premier League has announced the nominees for their U18 annual awards, with two United players featuring in the Player of the Year category.
JJ Gabriel and Albert Mills have been nominated for Player of the Year, having both impressed throughout the season. Perhaps the most intriguing fact is that Gabriel is still only 15 years old, as it’s proof that he is playing at a higher level than most kids his age.
Eight young players were nominated and selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel, who will decide the winner to be announced at the Premier League Youth Development Conference on Tuesday, 12 May.

This is fantastic news for the United duo and shows that they are doing something right under the guidance of Fletcher and his coaches.
Both players will be eager to make the next step by winning the FA Youth Cup final against Man City next Thursday.

Gabriel has been tipped for a future place in United’s first team, so there is already plenty of excitement surrounding the youngster.
With good reason, too.
Gabriel has scored 20 goals in just 21 league appearances for United’s under-18s this season.
Meanwhile, Mills has been a rock at the back in a defence that has conceded the fewest goals in the league.
Both players have trained with United’s first team this season.
