Manchester United have responded to a survey issued to fans as they attempt to settle on their PA arrangements on matchday.
Football clubs across the world felt the absence of fans during the global pandemic because teams were forced to play in front of empty stadiums.
That is partly why Manchester United are trying to ensure that their matchday traditions at Old Trafford benefit the entire experience.
United fans will tell you about their own traditions. The common denominator is that fans sit in their seats before the match, listening to the music and chants that ring around the ground, while watching the players warm up.
This includes a rendition of ‘United Road’, taken from ‘Country Roads’, and ‘This Is The One’ by The Stone Roses.

Man Utd settle on when to play stadium music
United surveyed 6,500 fans out of 50,000+ season ticket holders and Executive Club Members before deciding to settle on their matchday music routine at Old Trafford.
It is acknowledged that 40% of those who replied to the survey are sitting in the Stretford End.
It has emerged following the release of minutes from United’s first Fans’ Forum of 2025/26 that music will be played between the end of the warm-ups and team walkout, apart from high-profile games.
This Is the One will continue to play as the players walk out onto the pitch, followed by Country Roads to be played after mandatory competition anthems which leads to kick-off.
Furthermore, no music will be played after a draw or a defeat, but Glory Glory Man United will be played after wins.
Interestingly, United fan group The Red Army has responded to the update by stressing they objected to the idea of music being introduced at Old Trafford, as they would prefer if music wasn’t used to drown out the sound of the Stretford End.
While trying to improve the atmosphere at Old Trafford, Ineos is planning the construction of a new stadium, which has yet to begin.
Man Utd E-Bar trial well received by fans
United also announced that their E-Bar trial for United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland was a success.
It was trialled in the North Level 0 concourse as the four machines served over 600 pints of Madri and fruit cider during the pre-kick period and half time.
United are looking at other potential concourse spaces to roll out the concept as an E-Bar can pour two perfect pints in just 7 seconds.
It’s a step into the future, but they have been popping up at other stadiums for some time.
