Manchester United release three new kits annually, with the home version worn in every competitive game since the beginning of the 2025/26 season.
After Manchester United announced their third kit in August, there was a lot of excitement as it came as a throwback to the 90s.
The kit, designed by Adidas, features an all-black base with yellow accents.
United fans will recall the black, yellow and blue palette that was used by United between 1993 and 1995.
The shirt in question was famously worn by Eric Cantona when he kung-fu kicked an abusive Crystal Palace fan at Selhurst Park in 1995. It will also be remembered for when the club won the Double for the first time, under Sir Alex Ferguson, in 1993/94.
Ruben Amorim hopes that the current members of United’s first team can give fans moments to remember when they wear the new kits.

Man Utd to wear new kit with unique twist
United travel to Brentford in the Premier League this weekend.
It will be a chance for fans to see United wear their new third kit for the first time.
Amorim’s side have worn red in all six competitive fixtures so far this season, but the white away kit was used during pre-season. The full price breakdown of the home kit suggests that football kits are only getting more expensive.
The third kit will be worn before United take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
However, it won’t be worn how it was initially released, as an all-black kit.
There is a clash with Brentford’s kit, as they pair red-and-white striped shirts and black shorts and socks when playing at home.
For this reason, United will wear yellow socks and shorts with the black jersey.
Chance for Man Utd to build momentum
It’s been a slow start to the season for United.
Amorim will demand that his players use United’s 2-1 win over Chelsea as a way to gain momentum.
It could prove to be a turning point in United’s season if they can go on a winning run before facing Liverpool at Anfield.
