Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has hailed the “amazing” work of a Premier League manager who has “transformed” their respective team in the league.

Ruben Amorim has been at Old Trafford since November after he left Sporting CP and replaced Erik ten Hag in the Manchester United dugout.

The 39-year-old Portuguese manager has overseen a strong start to life in England and United have won twice and picked up one draw under Amorim’s reign so far.

Amorim led the Red Devils to a 1-1 Premier League draw against Ipswich Town at Portman Road after the November international break.

The United boss then picked up his first victory as Red Devils manager with a 3-2 win over Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League at Old Trafford.

Amorim oversaw his first win in the Premier League on the weekend after United thrashed Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Amorim praises Premier League manager

Manchester United are currently ninth in the Premier League table and the Red Devils are four points adrift from the top four after 13 league matches played.

Ruben Amorim faces his toughest test as United manager on Wednesday evening with the Red Devils travelling to the Emirates for the showdown with Arsenal.

Speaking ahead of the match, the former Sporting CP boss has praised the work that Mikel Arteta has done at Arsenal and how he has “transformed” his team.

Amorim admitted how Arteta has turned some youngsters into “big talents” and he also wants to have the “same mindset” as him in the “difficult moments.”

“He did an amazing job, sometimes coaches are just judged on the titles but what he’s been doing at Arsenal, I think it been amazing. He’s transformed the team,” he said, as per Sky Sports.

“He’s brought in some youngsters that now are now big talents in this country. I hope to have the same mindset in the difficult moments because I’ve watched this league for a long time.

“It’s a very good characteristic in Mikel, so I think he’s doing a great job.”

Amorim on difference at Man Utd

Arsenal are in the Premier League title picture under Mikel Arteta and the Gunners are nine points adrift from league leaders Liverpool this season.

Arteta’s men thumped West Ham 5-2 on the weekend at the London Stadium ahead of hosting United on Wednesday evening, with kick-off slated for 8:15pm UK time.

Despite his praise for the Arsenal manager, Amorim admitted that his position at United is different than what the 42-year-old Spaniard has experienced so far.

“But we have to acknowledge that Manchester United is a little bit different,” he said.

“All the attention you guys are putting here all the time, so I know that sometimes it may not be possible to have all that time.

“So, we will try to manage that and try to do things a little bit more fast, knowing that here there is massive attention and judgment every day.”
