Manchester United have listened to the fans regarding the music played after matches, especially after wins.
Fan groups, including The Red Army (TRA), have worked tremendously hard to improve the atmosphere at Old Trafford in recent years.
The most recent example of that is the increased number of flags in the Stretford End. This is part of the ‘Reclaim the Stretford End’ campaign that is organised and funded by TRA and has been backed by the club.
Man Utd’s new stadium plans, what we know right now
Another topic of conversation is the music played at Old Trafford before and after games, regardless of the result.
In an interview with United In Focus back in November, a spokesperson for TRA explained why music harms the atmosphere. It drowns out the sound being created by the fans.
These concerns have been stressed by TRA and other fan groups, with an update on the matter coming from the latest Fans’ Forum meeting.

Man Utd to turn off music after wins for three-game trial
It’s not often United fans feel listened to by the club, but the board have taken note of the unrest caused by music played at matches.
Season ticket holders and Executive Club Members took part in a survey and voiced their opinions towards music at the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
There was also a strong recommendation from fan reps to turn it off, which they are pledging to do for the next three home games, which result in a win.
The minutes from the December Fans’ Forum reads as follows: “The club noted that Season Ticket holders and Executive Club Members were surveyed on views towards music at the start of the season but accepted the strong recommendation from fan reps to trial no music post-match for the next three home games which result in a win for the team (starting from the Bournemouth home game on 15 December).
“Following the trial, the subgroup will reconvene to review impact on atmosphere and discuss next steps.”
Should United prioritise building a new stadium or winning on the pitch now?
When can Man Utd start trial?
United have back-to-back home games before the end of the year.
The Red Devils host Newcastle on Boxing Day before Wolves travel to Old Trafford on Tuesday, December 30.
United will then need to wait until January 11 for their next home match as they take on Brighton in the FA Cup.
The next home game in the Premier League is a week later when Pep Guardiola’s side comes to Old Trafford.
Hopefully, the trial will be concluded and proved to be a success before the end of January 2026.
