Man Utd academy product confirms signing for new club, he’s ‘absolutely delighted’

Manchester United’s transfer window is gaining pace with exits sanctioned on an almost daily basis as the deadline day inches closer.

The high-profile exits of Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are the latest ones that will net Man Utd close to £90m, if Hojlund’s option becomes an obligation.

Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia are the remaining ones on the transfer list, while the goalkeeping situation could see some deadline day flux.

In between all these exits and potential arrivals, one Man Utd academy product whose journey at Old Trafford ended in June has confirmed he’s signing for a new club.

James Nolan signs for new club after Man Utd exit

Man Utd are selling a batch of players now, but for many academy products, their journey at the club came to an end back in June.

James Nolan was among the players who were informed that their contracts at the club would not be renewed.

Nolan spent the last season on loan at Inverness in Scotland, getting his first professional goal in a spell that was fruitful for him.

Generally a right-back, who can play on the left as well as in the centre, Nolan has now signed for Marine FC in the National League North/South division.

Announcing his signing, Marine quoted Nolan as saying: “I’m absolutely delighted to join Marine. I spoke to the gaffer before joining and he told me his ambitions for the season, and I knew I wanted to be a part of it.

“It’s a great group of lads and they’ve all made me feel very welcome. I want to come in and help the team out by putting crosses in the box, getting forward, and fingers crossed, some goals and assists.

“I think as a group we know where we want to get to, and I can’t wait to get going on Saturday in front of the fans.”

Marine manager Bobby Grant raved about Nolan’s qualities, adding that he will make the team stronger. Nolan has already made his debut for his new club, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1-0 loss against Peterborough Sports.

James Nolan’s Man Utd academy teammates finding moves too

Nolan is not the only one who has found a new club after his journey at United came to an end, with others restarting their careers as well.

Jack Kingdon has signed for Cardiff City after a loan at Rochdale last season, while Sam Murray has signed for Carlisle United this summer.

At the end of the day, even players who didn’t break through at Man Utd are carving a career for themselves as professional footballers.

That is the biggest endorsement for the academy, and one that should be cherished and held up as the standard at the club.
