Man United ‘should be relieved’ to get £5 million back for ‘deadweight’ slams pundit

Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has been slammed for his behaviour at Old Trafford as Borussia Dortmund close in on signing the Englishman.

After joining Manchester United in the summer of 2021, the signing of Jadon Sancho has not gone to plan at all with the English forward arguably performing his best under Ralf Rangnick, which says a lot.

Borussia Dortmund are now on the verge of signing the English forward on a loan deal with a nominal fee of just £2.6 million, according to The Athletic.

It has been a truly disastrous signing for all parties involved and a move away from Old Trafford, even on a temporary basis, is what both club and player need.

Jordan and Murphy on Sancho

Speaking on talkSPORT, Simon Jordan and Danny Murphy gave their verdict on the situation and believe that all sides are to blame for this current situation.

“I think it’s ludicrous it has got to this decision from both sides and he has conducted this poorly, whoever is managing him deserves a slap in the chops,” Murphy said.

“He was never a £300,000 a week player in the first place,” Jordan said. “I don’t think he’s a particularly great player. They tried to buy him in the previous year and somehow they have this problem of trying to offload him.

“If I was United, I would be relieved to get £5 million back for him. He’s been a deadweight for United, a deadweight for the club and he has a history of behaving in this fashion. He has done it before and maybe Ten Hag didn’t want to put up with it.”

United right to move Sancho on

The talk of Erik ten Hag’s future in relation to moving on Sancho is merely irrelevant because the reality is that the Englishman has struggled hugely.

Since moving to the club in the summer of 2021, Sancho has just 12 goals and six assists in all competitions for the Red Devils which is better than under-fire winger Antony, but not enough.

Ten Hag was certainly right to exile him from his squad due to his social media outburst and the 23-year-old has not pulled up trees since his move to Old Trafford two years ago.

A move away for Sancho is the right decision for all parties.
