Manchester United are reportedly set to receive a double injury boost ahead of their game against Sheffield United next Saturday.

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United have had to contend with a fair few injury concerns this season but two stars are set to return following the international break.

According to the Metro, Raphael Varane and Sergio Reguilon are set to be back for the game against the struggling Blades.

This would be a welcomed boost for Ten Hag who is currently missing the entirety of his first-choice back four but Varane returning would be a huge boost for the former Ajax boss.

Reguilon’s return

The Spanish left-back, according to the report, featured against Barnsley in the behind-closed-door friendly, which was a 3-0 victory for the Red Devils.

The return of the player on loan from Tottenham Hotspur is another huge boost for Ten Hag potentially in more of an attacking sense than a defensive one.

Reguilon was forming a nice partnership with Marcus Rashford before the Spaniard suffered an injury against Burnley at Turf Moor.

As well as this, the return of Reguilon would shift some players, who are out of position back into their regular zones on the pitch.

Amrabat’s role

Sofyan Amrabat has had to deputise at left-back in Reguilon’s absence and the Moroccan midfielder has certainly not looked as natural as he did when he featured as the deepest midfielder during United’s dramatic 2-1 win over Brentford.

Well, with the return of the Spaniard, Amrabat should be able to line up in his best position. As well as this, the defensive shape of the team could be set to improve.

During the win over Brentford, Victor Lindelof featured at left-back and United, once again, looked a bit out of sorts defensively and going forward.

The return of the Spaniard will address this issue and a win against the Blades is a must.
