Manchester United have received a big boost ahead of the crucial Champions League clash against FC Copenhagen.
It is a must-win game for Erik ten Hag and the Dutchman will be glad to hear that two of the Red Devils’ most important players currently are set to return.
The Champions League group is on a knife edge with Galatasaray currently ahead of Manchester United but the Turkish side take on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.
A win for the Red Devils in Denmark would give them the edge ahead of the crucial fixture in Turkey on matchday 5 and Ten Hag will be glad to hear that two crucial players are back in training.
United welcome back two stars
The official United website has confirmed that Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof are back in training ahead of the crucial clash in Denmark.
Lindelof was suffering from an illness against Fulham hence why the Swede missed out on the encounter but the former SL Benfica man is set to be in contention for the game against Copenhagen.
As for Rashford, the winger sat out of United’s 1-0 win over Fulham due to an injury.
Importance of Rashford’s return
The Englishman has not had the best start to the season with just one goal to his name so far but the United academy graduate’s importance cannot be understated.
Despite Alejandro Garnacho showing promise, the Argentine struggled to get into the game and starting Rashford, with a point to prove, may well be the wise decision for Ten Hag.
As for Lindelof, his return may well not disrupt the starting 11 as much. Diogo Dalot looked assured at left-back with the return of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, so a place in the team for him may well be difficult.
Nevertheless, due to the sheer number of injuries, getting players back for depth is crucial ahead of such an important part of the season and Ten Hag’s tenure at the club.
