Manchester United’s Jonny Evans has received rave reviews from pundits in the media since his man-of-the-match performance against Burnley at Turf Moor.
The Northern Irish defender provided the winner and will perhaps feel hard done by that his brilliant first-half header was not rewarded as the goal was chalked off by VAR.
The defender’s decision to rejoin United certainly seemed a strange one during the summer but the manager’s faith in the 35-year-old had been repaid on Saturday night.
And it seems that the defender certainly has faith in Erik ten Hag’s vision for the club.

Evans backs Ten Hag
Speaking after the tight 1-0 win over Vincent Kompany’s side, Evans was keen to defend the former Ajax boss about the job he is doing so far in Manchester.
“The manager’s got a good thing going here,” Evans told the Daily Mail. “I’m a fan of the club so I was able to watch them a lot last year, been at both finals to support. Like I say, I think the manager’s got a good thing going.”
A player with so many top-level appearances, shown by his 200th appearance for the Red Devils being that match in Lancashire, backing the Dutchman is certainly a boost for the manager.
Evans on dealing with ups and downs
United have had more downs than ups so far this season but the ups could be on their way back to returning. judging by United’s favourable run of form.
The Red Devils could theoretically put together a winning run of form and then all the talk of dressing room tension would be flung out of the proverbial window.
“I think you get that if you want to be at the top (ups and downs),” Evans said. “You know, it’s going to be very up and down.
“You’ve got to be able to deal with setbacks and this club is a fantastic club, always want to be challenging at the top, so it’s all part and parcel of it.”
