Manchester United continue to be linked with Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo and supporters are desperate to see the move happen.
Before last week’s chaotic 4-4 draw against Bournemouth, Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim called Antoine Semenyo ‘special’.
Just hours later, Semenyo starred at Old Trafford and delivered an impressive performance. Since then, reports of United’s interest in Semenyo have ramped up.
According to transfer expert David Ornstein, Semenyo has rejected Tottenham, meaning it is a battle between United and Manchester City for his signature in January.
Semenyo has a £65m release clause in January, and the United fanbase has had their say on whether or not Ineos should push to make it happen.

Ahead of the January transfer window, United in Focus has been engaging with fans through Talking Points, and supporters have had their say on the Semenyo rumours.
When quizzed on whether United should pay Semenyo’s release clause in January, over 3,000 fans voted and 75% were in favour of paying the fee.

In response, one fan wrote: “Yes, Man Utd should get him. If we want to be in Europe next season, we have to get players like this asap when available.”
Another wrote: “Yes, too right we should then it’s up to the player if he wants to come to Utd, hopefully he has the same mindset as Mbeumo, Cunha, and Sesko who could have signed elsewhere but signed because it’s Man Utd.”
A third supporter commented: “No brainer. He is a long-awaited upgrade for our team.”
Elliot Anderson remains Man United dream target in 2026
While United fans are eager to see Semenyo make the move to Old Trafford, he was not the name at the top of fans’ shopping lists.
In fact, when United in Focus quizzed supporters on their dream signing for United in 2026, he actually finished third in the polls.
Who is your dream Manchester United signing in 2026?
Semenyo picked up 18% of the votes, while Adam Wharton picked up 19%. But it was Elliot Anderson who dominated the vote with 50% of votes.
Like Semenyo, United and City want Anderson in 2026, but he is expected to cost much more than Semenyo’s £65m price tag.
