Manchester United fans have given their reaction to the news Omar Berrada has been appointed as the new CEO of the Red Devils, joining the club from Manchester City.
In a statement of intent, the Red Devils have confirmed the appointment of the Manchester City CFO in what was a rather surprising development that really came out of nowhere.
It seems that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos are getting their feet firmly under the table at Old Trafford, ahead of the Premier League giving regulatory approval to the move, expected in February.
Richard Arnold was the previous CEO at Old Trafford but the Englishman, and the club, announced he would be leaving last year.

Fans react
Berrada’s appointment was first reported via The Athletic. He is set to start work at Manchester United next season.
The appointment has now been confirmed by the club and fans have been giving their reaction to the deal.
“Fantastic! We finally replaced David Gill I see,” one fan remarked.
Another said: “We’re finally serious.” Another fan was perhaps a bit optimistic with their shout over who the next manager at Old Trafford could be: “If you can’t beat them just join them, Pep (Guardiola) is next.”
Any chance of the Spaniard joining the club is surely low but the reality is that this appointment is one that the fans simply have to get excited about.
A fourth fan remarked: “We’re gradually becoming a serious club again.
“Could be one of the most important signings for United in the last decade,” another said.
A sixth fan believes that the good times will be back soon: “He could be vital to getting the club back to where they belong.”
Importance of appointment
Berrada is the first of multiple appointments that Ratcliffe and Ineos are planning to make to the structure at Old Trafford.
A new sporting director and head of recruitment are believed to be the next appointments from Ineos and these hires could be vital to getting the Red Devils back to where they belong.
As one fan mentioned, this could be the club’s biggest appointment in a decade.
