As Euros and Copa America enter their last stages, the transfer window, which was essentially on hold till the international are over, should pick up pace.
That means that deals that were advancing but had hit a roadblock due to players playing for their national teams could move quickly again.
Diogo Dalot has now shown approval for one of those, and it is the one for which United fans are arguably the most excited about already.
Football players know every move of theirs on social media is scrutinised and dissected endlessly so it would be naive to think Dalot didn’t know what he was doing.
That has sent United fans wild on social media, who now believe that they know about the next man through the door at the club after Dalot’s latest act.

United fans react to Dalot endorsement
Recently, Fabrizio Romano posted about United getting closer to a deal for Matthijs de Ligt after agreeing a contract with him for five years.
Only negotiations between the clubs remain and the player’s priority is to join United, which means there is a growing confidence that the deal will be done.
Dalot fanned the flames of the move by ‘liking’ the Instagram post, leading most fans to theorise about “Agent Dalot” acting like one of the supporters as well.
Some are convinced that Dalot is in on the secret. One said, “He’s keeping a close watch”, while another said, “Dalot our certified agent!”. One was fully convinced that this gave the game away, writing, “Nice one welcome home then”.
Fans believe De Ligt is already a great fit for United and Dalot too, with one saying, “Imagine Licha [Lisandro Martinez], Dalot, and De Ligt! Crazy crazy emotions!”.
Another echoed a similar sentiment, saying, “They’re actually gonna be best friends”, and, “He wants another Licha version”.
Some fans were quick to make fun of Dalot who they said was acting like a fan when he shares a dressing room with his teammates. One wrote, “Maguire’s not gonna be happy seeing him like this tweet!” while another said, “He’s just a fan like us”.
United readying double Dutch swoop
Now that the Netherlands are eliminated from the Euros, the way is clear for United to complete the deals for Joshua Zirkzee and Matthijs de Ligt.
While Zirkzee looks a bit more advanced than De Ligt, neither deal looks in any danger of not happening at all. With a striker and center-back secure, the focus will turn to midfield, for which Manuel Ugarte has emerged as the prime target.
If (when) United complete the signings of the Dutch pair, it will add to a growing Dutch contingent at the club, with Rene Hake and Ruud van Nistelrooij adding to the staff ranks as well.
In all this, there is one thing fans can be sure of. De Ligt is definitely not going to have any problems acclimatising to the dressing room. He’s already got a fan in Diogo Dalot, and another United player has endorsed his qualities recently as well!
