Man United ‘concerned’ over performances of star man after fall-off in form, may need to be dropped

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has not had the start to the season that he would have liked.

The English forward, who signed a new contract under manager Erik ten Hag this summer, has just one goal to his name in all competitions.

After a 30-goal season last year, it seemed the forward had gotten over his loss of confidence during the 2021-2022 season but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Marcus Rashford had a chance to score against Galatasaray when he was sent in on goal but instead of firing hard and low into the bottom corner like he would have last season, he tried to square it to Bruno Fernandes but it was intercepted.

United concerned with Rashford

Now, according to a report from The Mirror, it seems Manchester United are concerned with the performances of the English forward.

According to the report, they feel that Rashford is underperforming and may well need to be dropped soon to attempt to ignite the flames in the forward to perform better.

With Alejandro Garnacho making an impact throughout the games he has been brought on for, you wonder if the Argentine should come in for the underperforming 25-year-old.

Should United drop Rashford

The debate could be had for hours about whether the Englishman needs dropping to spark something in him to bring the best out of him.

Garnacho could come in and be superb for the Red Devils and then the English forward would have to work his way back into the team or it could have the opposite effect.

Rashford could lose even more confidence in himself and be even more of a shadow of the player he was last season if he is dropped.

So, for now, the solution will seemingly be to try and play the forward into form and that would be the right thing to do, and to try and show loyalty to one of United’s best players.
