Luke Shaw has lavished praise on “unbelievable” Manchester United signing Lisandro Martinez, and he believes the Argentine will only get “better and better”.
The former Ajax man has started 12 of United’s 13 games this season, and the aggressive South American has added some much-needed steel and grit to our backline.
The 24-year-old has established a good understanding and partnership with World Cup winner Raphael Varane.
Aside from the 6-3 defeat to Manchester City, Erik ten Hag’s side are yet to taste defeat when Martinez and Varane have started alongside one and other.
Luke Shaw praises Lisandro Martinez

As well as bringing his fiery and physical approach to defending, Martinez’s impressive distribution has also proved to be a vital asset to United’s attack.
Capable of penetrating the opposition’s defensive lines with his incisive passing, England international Shaw has praised United’s number six for the impressive start to life he’s made at Old Trafford following his summer move.
When asked what it’s like to play alongside the Argentine, Shaw told The National: “Unbelievable, to be honest. You can see everyone loves him. The fans love him. His left foot is unbelievable.
“I think it always helps when you play with a left-footer on the side because he naturally likes to come out to that side, and I think he has fitted in really well.
“Of course, he can keep getting better and better, but for me so far, he has been unbelievable this season. He needs to keep that up.
“His aggression, his passion, we need him in that backline. He brings that every game. I am really pleased to have him in the team.”

Shaw has started the last two Premier League games next to the Argentine, and United’s number 23 currently looks to have the edge over Tyrell Malacia for the starting left-back spot.
