Luke Shaw has reportedly agreed a four-year contract extension with Manchester United.

The Athletic report Luke Shaw has agreed an extension at Manchester United on his current deal which was set to expire in June 2024.

The left-back’s new extension is not yet official, but it is reported ‘a positive conclusion is now imminent’.

Shaw has been a regular in Erik ten Hag‘s set up at Manchester United, winning back his place in the team after being axed early in the campaign.

Shaw ‘agrees new deal’

An announcement over Luke Shaw’s new contract is expected shortly. It will be reward for his stellar performances across the past few seasons.

Shaw has played 37 games for Manchester United this season, scoring once and providing five assists.

The defender signed for Manchester United from Southampton in 2014 when he was a teenager.

He has bounced back from a serious injury suffered in 2015 and is now playing under his fourth permanent manager at Old Trafford.

Shaw is still only 27, and this might not end up being his final contract at Manchester United. He could yet earn another one beyond this.

The extension is a major piece of business for Manchester United, with question marks hanging over long term deals for Marcus Rashford, Diogo Dalot, and Fred.

David de Gea‘s future is even more unclear. While all of the above saw their one year options triggered to 2024, De Gea’s current deal runs out this summer.
