Manchester United fan Luke Littler won the 2025 World Darts Championship on Friday night.

The teenage sensation dominated Michael van Gerwen in the final at the Ally Pally in London to become the youngest-ever world champion.

Littler, 17, has never hidden his admiration for Manchester United and many fans will celebrate his latest triumph.

After making last year’s final but losing to Luke Humphries, Littler received a supportive text message from United legend David Beckham. He had to wait an extra year to become world champion but the title is his now.

Littler’s connection with United also led to the club’s official account on X wishing him well ahead of his final triumph against Van Gerwen.

He has also been invited to Carrington on multiple occasions to meet United players, as seen in the photo above.

Littler wants to take his trophy to Old Trafford

It might end up being a trophyless campaign for United on the pitch, but Littler could share a moment with fans if the club is open to the idea.

United are currently 14th in the Premier League and out of the Carabao Cup. Unless the Reds pull off a run in either the FA Cup or Europa League, Ruben Amorim won’t end his first season in charge with a piece of silverware.

Erik ten Hag was sacked after winning two trophies in his first two years at Old Trafford. It’s a warning to the new head coach that cups won’t save his job because United need to improve their league form drastically.

After winning the world title, Littler was asked if he would visit Old Trafford with the PDC World Darts trophy. He also made a joke about beating Liverpool-supporting Stephen Bunting in the semi-finals.

Little told reporters at his press conference on Friday night: “If they allow me to, yeah! I’m glad I beat Stephen [Bunting] yesterday because I’m pretty sure he was taking it to Anfield on the weekend.”

One United fan took to X, jokingly, to write: “I’m adding every Littler major to United’s trophy count.”

Harry Maguire congratulates Luke Littler

Several members of United’s first-team love the darts, including Harry Maguire.

The centre-back was quick to congratulate Littler on his win with a message on Instagram.

Maguire, 31, shared a photo of Littler with his trophy adding: “Ridiculous. Congratulations.”

Amorim announced that Maguire’s contract will be extended until June 2026, which means he’ll aim to add to his trophy collection before his time at the club ends.
