The plaudits are rolling in for Casemiro with the Brazilian being voted into the FIFPro World XI for the first time in his career.

The midfielder was voted by his peers into the world best 11, and was at an awards ceremony in Paris to receive the honour.

The award demonstrates the respect Casemiro has from his peers, with the award voted for by the players.

This came just 24 hours after Casemiro won the Carabao Cup with Manchester United, his first trophy in English football.

Reaction to Casemiro success

This was the first time in his career that Casemiro had been voted into the FIFPro XI. It was well overdue, with five Champions League titles now to his name.

He noted the achievement with a post on Instagram, which saw more players show their admiration in response.

Manchester United teammate Jadon Sancho wrote, ‘What a player’, while former Real Madrid colleague Luka Modric left a message containing three emojis to express his admiration.

Modric was also voted into the FIFPro XI, with Kevin de Bruyne completing the midfield.

Casemiro’s trip to Paris for the event came with Manchester United’s full approval, and could be a sign he will be rested for the midweek game against West Ham, at least as a starter.

United will need to rotate after two big games against Barcelona and Newcastle, and we could see Scott McTominay and Marcel Sabitzer line up in midfield.

Casemiro will still be part of the squad, and will certainly be back in the line-up to face Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, when United go in pursuit of another big win.
