Lisandro Martinez’s girlfriend predicted sublime goal against Liverpool with use of AI

Goals are a rarity for Lisandro Martinez.

The Argentine centre-back scored his second goal for Manchester United over the weekend.

Lisandro Martinez took advantage of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s attempt at defending to find space in the box before blasting his effort past Alisson Becker. The Liverpool goalkeeper was left with no chance between the sticks.

Unfortunately, the opening goal was cancelled out minutes later through Cody Gakpo. That was followed by a Mohamed Salah penalty to give the hosts a 2-1 lead in the 70th minute.

Amad Diallo spoiled the party for Liverpool at Anfield with a strike late on to help United secure a point, however, many leaving the stadium felt Ruben Amorim’s side deserved more from the game.

Lisandro Martinez’s girlfriend makes correct goal prediction

Football fans tend to cast predictions ahead of games, but we don’t always get it right.

Except for Martinez’s girlfriend, Muri López Benítez, who had a ‘premonition’ the 26-year-old would score against Liverpool.

Argentine outlet Ole have shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation between the couple, where Martinez’s girlfriend shared an AI (artificial intelligence) picture of Martinez celebrating a goal.

Muri López Benítez’s text message read: “I took a photo of you with the AI shouting your goal in Liverpool.”

It may help explain Martinez’s goal celebration as he tucked the ball under his shirt to celebrate the fact they’re expecting a baby in the new year.

United fans love Martinez’s honesty

Martinez gave an honest assessment of United’s performance against Liverpool.

The BBC asked the World Cup winner about United being guilty of poor performances this season and how they suddenly improved.

Martinez pointed to his head and said: “The mind.”

The response went down well with United fans on social media, with one writing: “I will never hate this man.”

Another wrote: “I love him man. I’ll never doubt you again.”

Like other members of United’s first team, Martinez has been the subject of criticism this season. He will hope to build on his impressive display against Liverpool on Sunday when United take on Arsenal in the FA Cup.
