Lisandro Martinez has spoken out for the first time since his operation that will keep him out of the Manchester United team until the new year.
The Argentine originally suffered a foot injury last season against Sevilla and the defender, who Erik ten Hag signed from Ajax, made his return for pre-season.
However, it seems that Lisandro Martinez was rushed back into the first team too soon as the defender has seemingly suffered a recurrence of his previous injury.
The Argentinian international has flown back to Argentina and has given an update on the injury that has kept him out for so long.

Martinez update
Speaking to TNT Sport, the defender seems to be in good spirits about his injury situation and his return from injury.
“I am in the process of recovery and happy to be here visiting the club. It is the second time that an injury like this has happened to me. So, you have to be patient,” he said.
It seems the defender is also keen on not rushing back from injury again and aggravating a previous injury.
A similar situation happened with Tyrell Malacia who struggled to recover from the injury he suffered in pre-season and has been out of the side ever since.
Martinez’s importance
It’s not an over-exaggeration to say that Martinez may well be the most important defender the club has, not just because of his defensive abilities, but also his abilities on the ball.
Without him, the club has struggled to progress the ball through the lines and has struggled to create chances for their forwards as a result with Marcus Rashford being the only forward to have scored in the Premier League.
The return of the Argentine, alongside Luke Shaw at left-back would be a massive boost for the Red Devils and the pair could be the difference for the club after a terrible start to the season.
