Manchester United battled to a 1-0 win over Bournemouth to almost secure Champions League qualification for 2023/24.
The Red Devils require only one point from the final two matches at home to Chelsea and Fulham, after Liverpool were held at home to Aston Villa.
Casemiro scored an acrobatic winning goal in the ninth minute and that was enough for the three points thanks to a resolute defensive performance.
The Brazilian has chipped in with goals through the season, now up to six for the campaign, and he has been consistently impressive.

Lisandro Martinez praises Casemiro
Missing from the teamsheet was popular defender Lisandro Martinez, who is out for the rest of the season with injury.
The Argentine was watching his team, sending a message to Casemiro after the game. He wrote on Instagram in reply that he is a ‘top top player’ and made a cheeky reference to the midfielder’s spectacular goal.

Casemiro and Martinez have both been excellent additions for the Red Devils this season, and give more reason for manager Erik ten Hag to be backed in the transfer market again this summer.
For this to happen the takeover needs to go through sooner rather than later, so it does not negatively impinge on the club’s transfer preparations.
What will help, is the attraction of playing Champions League football next season. United are almost there, and can secure it at Old Trafford against Chelsea on Thursday night.
