Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount put in an energetic first half performance in the pre-season win over Arsenal.
Erik ten Hag made sure his Manchester United players did not treat the match against Arsenal like a friendly. This was a game the team wanted to win, and did.
Mason Mount was one of the players who wanted to prove a point, against a team who wanted to sign him. He chose United and looked to have made a wise choice.
The midfielder was impressive in an under-stated manner as the Red Devils beat Arsenal 2-0 in New York, with Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho on the scoresheet.

Martinez praises Mount
Manchester United’s new number seven has slotted into the team seamlessly so far with his hard effort off the ball matched by his calmness on it.
He has struck up a friendship with teammate Lisandro Martinez already, quickly turning the page on their clash while Mount was in Chelsea blue last season.
Mount is finding out it is better to have ‘The Butcher’ as a teammate than an opponent.
