Lisandro Martinez says Luke Shaw and Donny van de Beek are ready to step in and make a contribution to Manchester United’s season.
Erik ten Hag has seemingly settled on a best team already, which has helped drastically improve results and performances since the loss at Brentford.
Lisandro is in it, but Harry Maguire, along with Shaw and van de Beek – and it is important to note both have been injured too – have been on the fringes.
As per the Times, Martinez talked up United’s depth, as well as the recent performances of central defensive partner Raphael Varane.

Martinez on Shaw and van de Beek
He said: “Everyone knows how good [Varane] is. He is a legend for me. I’m really happy to play with him at the back, but every player in the team is ready to play.
“Every player is doing well and working hard. That’s the important point.
“It’s not just Varane, it is Harry [Maguire], it is Luke Shaw, it is Donny van de Beek, it is everyone. Everyone is ready.”
Ten Hag may need to rotate his squad after the international break, with a frantic October ahead and it will be interesting to see how much gametime Maguire, Shaw, van de Beek and others get.
Shaw and Maguire have been named in the most recent England squad but will want to play more regularly with the World Cup coming up.
It might have been expected that van de Beek would play more under his former Ajax manager, but that has not been the case so far.
Christian Eriksen has come in and done the job we all hoped van de Beek would be able to carry out, improving with every passing game.
It will be an interesting period after the international break and the challenge for United and Ten Hag will be getting the same levels of performance when the lineup deviates from the current best eleven.
