Manchester United’s new signing Lisandro Martinez believes he will “only get better” playing under Erik ten Hag.
The 24-year-old becomes the Dutchman’s third signing, joining Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen as new Red Devils players.

Martinez was brought to the Johan Cruijff Arena by Ten Hag from Argentine side Defensa in the summer of 2019.
The Argentina international established himself as a favourite under the 52-year-old and he’ll be looking to have the same influential impact in Manchester.

Capable of playing at centre-back, left-back and in midfield, Martinez will also be reunited with Donny van de Beek who he played alongside in midfield under Ten Hag.
Speaking in his farewell interview, Martinez spoke in glowing terms about the impact Ten Hag has had on his career, and his qualities as a manager.
Martinez said: “I’ll only get better with Erik because he is a terrific coach.
“He has a lot of training material in order for me to improve every day.
“My mentality is to work hard every day and to win trophies, I will keep doing that.”

Ten Hag’s ability to improve United’s current crop of players has been evident throughout pre-season.
The former Ajax boss is keen to implement his philosophy and principles, and there were positive signs during our time in Thailand and Australia.
Intense both in and out of possession, United pressed from the front and played out from the back, scoring some eye-catching team goals along the way.
Under the tutelage of Ten Hag, Martinez won four trophies, including back-to-back Eredivisie titles during his time in the Netherlands.

He’ll be eager to hit the ground running under his former boss and he could be making his first appearance for the Reds as we speak, which is a behind closed doors friendly against non-league side Wrexham which kicked off at 2pm.
If the South American doesn’t feature against the National League side, he’ll likely feature in Saturday’s clash against Atletico Madrid in Olso, Norway, or against fellow La Liga side Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, in what will be Ten Hag’s first match at Old Trafford.
