Having no European football is both a blessing and a curse for Manchester United.
On the one hand, Ruben Amorim has gotten his wish of extra training ground time, which has clearly improved the team and their understanding of the formation.
However, there are also negatives which come from this, with Joshua Zirkzee’s lack of football being one problem to emerge from one game a week.
This has also been the case with Kobbie Mainoo and Ayden Heaven, with both struggling for minutes despite their evident quality.

Yoro was asked by DAZN, and the player he created would be a world beater.

Yoro picked Mainoo for both his skill and strength, which is the 20-year-old in a nutshell; however, despite his quality and his teammates’ rating him, Mainoo has yet to start in the league for United.
Yoro and Mainoo spent the off-season training together, and so if anyone in the squad knows how good the number 37 is, it is the French centre-back.
Kobbie Mainoo needs to play more football for Manchester United
While Amorim has preached patience over the Mainoo situation, this will soon be wearing thin, as the most talented Carrington graduate of the past five years is deserving of more.
Mainoo has barely started any games under Amorim, and when he does, he has been set up to fail, played alongside Manuel Ugarte.
This season has not been good enough regarding minutes for Mainoo to develop into the player we all know he can be.
Amorim must give him a chance, and with Bruno Fernandes really not performing to a high level, perhaps this is the switch that needs to happen over the next month or two: rotation and planning for the future.
Fernandes will be leaving next summer more likely than not, and United should already be looking toward Mainoo as his replacement.
