Leny Yoro shared his reason for not celebrating his first goal for Manchester United and it shows that the French defender has a winning mentality.
Manchester United drew 2-2 against Lyon in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday night.
Thiago Almada was gifted an opening goal for Lyon after 26 minutes when his cross from a free-kick evaded everyone in the penalty area, including United goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Ruben Amorim’s side fought back to score just before half-time when Leny Yoro directed a header into the back of the net.
Both sides enjoyed chances in the second half before Joshua Zirkzee scored in the 88th minute, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win for United as transfer target Rayan Cherki equalised deep into stoppage time.
United remain the only team unbeaten in the Europa League this season.

Leny Yoro didn’t celebrate goal vs Lyon
Although Manchester United didn’t get the result they wanted in Lyon, it was a night to remember for Leny Yoro as he scored his first goal for the club.
The 19-year-old defender is now the youngest French player to score for the Reds in the Europa League, taking the record from Anthony Martial after his goal against Liverpool back in 2016.
However, many United fans observed that Yoro didn’t celebrate his goal in Lyon.
The former Lille defender has explained it was down to not wanting to celebrate because there was still time left on the clock.
“We wanted to win, no time for a celebration,” Yoro told TNT Sports during a post-match interview.
Yoro was more focused on getting the win and it shows he has the right mentality going into a crucial second leg tie at Old Trafford next week.
