Sekou Kone will spend another entire season at Lausanne-Sport after agreeing a second loan move away from Manchester United.
Although Sekou Kone’s first stint at Lausanne-Sport didn’t quite go to plan, the Mali youth international began pre-season preparations with the Swiss side.
Kone has now agreed to spend another season at Lausanne-Sport.
The main objective for the loan is for Kone to gain valuable experience in senior football, but injuries prevented him from making more than five league appearances for Lausanne-Sport last term.

Even though Kone missed a chunk of last season, Lausanne-Sport have surely seen something to warrant a second loan spell away from Manchester United.
The Swiss Super League outfit made that clear in a statement released on their official website following the loan deal agreement.
Kone is praised for rediscovering his form in pre-season for Lausanne-Sport after appearing in all of their friendly matches.

The statement read: “Returning for the summer break, Sékou Koné quickly rediscovered his form. Present throughout the preseason, he participated in all the friendly matches played by Luka Elsner’s team, demonstrating his desire to make up for lost time and continue his development with Lausanne.
“At only 20 years old, the young Malian has a promising profile and represents an important asset for the upcoming season.
“FC Lausanne-Sport is delighted to be able to continue to count on the qualities of Sékou Koné for the 2026-2027 season and wishes him much success in the blue and white jersey.”
Of course, negotiations would have been more straightforward than most between the two clubs since Ineos own Lausanne-Sport and it’s part of their multi-club ownership network, along with United.

Sekou Kone features in Lausanne-Sport’s season opener
Lausanne-Sport kicked off their Swiss Super League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Grasshoppers on Saturday.
Although Kone didn’t start the match, the United loanee played 21 minutes after coming on as a substitute in the second half.
Kone touched the ball 15 times, completed 78% of his passes, and was given a yellow card.
Lausanne-Sport travel to FC Basel next week.
