Manchester United have three young players currently on loan in Spain, now one has been handed the seal of approval from the league’s president.

This season Manchester United have really taken advantage of the loan market, sending a trio of youngsters over to La Liga to gain some crucial experience.

Facundo Pellistri headed to Granada in January while Hannibal Mejbri joined Sevilla but the third player to make the move has enjoyed more success than both.

Mason Greenwood returned to football with a loan to Getafe during last summer’s transfer window. He has since rediscovered the form which had him highly rated.

This has likely led to a big money move this coming summer, with the La Liga president admitting he wants the English forward to stay in the league.

La Liga president admits he is hoping for Mason Greenwood to stay in Spanish football

The president of La Liga, Javier Tebas has been talking to the media about the United loanee.

Greenwood has been impressing for Getafe this campaign and therefore Tebas was full of praise, with Fabrizio Romano sharing his quotes.

“He’s a great player and he’s doing really well at Getafe as a player, so I hope he continues to be successful and he continues to stay in Spanish football because that’s always good for us”.

The chances of Greenwood remaining in Spain are high, should United decide not to have him return to the club.

The season he is having will ensure there is no shortage of suitors with Barcelona named as a potential destination along with another year with Getafe on loan.

How has Mason Greenwood been playing for Getafe?

This season as Greenwood re-started his footballing career after a near two-year hiatus, he has enjoyed a successful season.

Greenwood has scored seven goals and assisted five in 25 appearances for the Spanish side this season along with having an average match rating of 7.09 on FotMob.

This has seen him become a favourite with Getafe supporters and the club seems keen on keeping him which could mean an extended loan suits all parties.

At just 22, Greenwood still has a long career ahead of him in football, although right now his future seems to lie in Spain.
