Manchester United have a new trio of superstars who have been standouts this season so far, but now one has set his ambitions higher.

This season for Manchester United, it’s been the youngsters who have shone brightest at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag has seen his side saved on countless occasions by the brilliant trio of Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

All three were instrumental in the winning run following the new year, with each being responsible for the points in almost every game.

Among these instrumental moments came a goal celebration which could go on to become iconic for the club.

Kobbie Mainoo responds to ‘iconic’ celebration against West Ham

The moment in question came against West Ham United in last month’s 3-0 win at Old Trafford over the Hammers.

Garnacho scored, before heading to the advertising billboard to replicate the famous Cristiano Ronaldo celebration where he sat on the billboard.

He wasn’t alone though, with both Hojlund and Mainoo joining him as the three sat together, it was a photo which could become truly iconic if the trio were to be successful for United.

Now Mainoo has responded to this image in an interview with Sky Sports, showing his elite mentality as he said: “The picture is only iconic if we go on to do great things for this club.”

This is a great response and shows how grounded the midfielder is that he doesn’t think he’s made it already.

Manchester United’s wonderkid duo are showing all the signs of becoming greats

Despite being just 18 and 19 years old respectively Mainoo and Garnacho are already showing the mindset, mentality and talent which is required at United to become a club great over the next decade.

The response from Mainoo shows where his ambitions lie and it will have delighted United fans to hear the youngster targeting ‘great things’ at the club.

Both already have put the club on their backs at times and in this interview, they’ve showcased their mentalities which shows they’ve good heads on their shoulders.

This bodes well for the future of both.
