Kobbie Mainoo has been unavailable for Manchester United all season after he suffered an ankle injury during the pre-season game against Real Madrid.
The injury that the Manchester United midfielder suffered from has meant he has not played a single Premier League game for Erik ten Hag’s side yet.
Well, he could finally be nearing a highly anticipated return to the United first team with there being an update on the fitness of the teenage midfielder.
The midfielder seems to be a big part of Ten Hag’s plans for the season ahead so his return to the first team would be a welcomed boost for the Dutchman.

Mainoo update
According to a report from the Manchester Evening News, Kobbie Mainoo could well be back fit and available after the October international break.
The young midfielder is training on grass, according to the report, but is not yet ready to be available for selection.
How much game time the young midfielder will receive will certainly be an interesting one. With the arrivals of Sofyan Amrabat and Mason Mount, along with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes as first-team options, Mainoo may well have to fight tooth and nail to break into the first team.
Perhaps he could be deployed at right-back and then invert into midfield, sort of how Moises Caicedo played during his days at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Amad fitness update
As well as there being an update on the fitness of Mainoo, there is also an update on the fitness of the Ivorian winger Amad, who has also been missing throughout the season due to an injury he suffered during pre-season.
The Ivorian suffered a knee injury during pre-season which has kept him out for two months, but he too is reportedly set to be back in the United setup after the next international break.
Amad had a hugely successful loan at Sunderland last season where he scored 13 goals and provided 3 assists in 37 EFL Championship games.
With the current issues United are having on the right, the timely return of Amad may well lead to the 21-year-old being given a chance under Ten Hag.
