Juan Mata says he is in top shape ahead of Premier League return

A number of Manchester United stars are working their way back to full fitness.
Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku are among the key players not quite at 100 per cent.
Juan Mata on the other hand, claims to be in fantastic shape.
Mata has played only four minutes since getting injured in the draw with Liverpool.
He told United’s official website he has been using the international break to get into peak condition.

Mata said: “In terms of training sessions, this week has been a very positive one for me.
“I have made the most of the chance to get in top shape after making my return in the FA Cup not long ago.
“I am feeling good and I am looking forward to doing whatever I can to help the team as much as possible.”

Perfect timing

Mata’s comments are very welcome. We discussed this week how the numerous injuries United have been dealing with makes it difficult for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to rush all the key players back in.
United have to be careful with Martial and Lingard’s fitness ahead of the Champions League ties.
The Spaniard will not be in many fans’ first choice XIs to take on Barcelona, but he could have a key role to play against Watford and Wolves in the two upcoming Premier League games.
Mata starting the next couple of games means Solskjaer can be patient with his attacking players, giving him greater flexibility.

His comments should be music to Solskjaer’s ears, and just what United need at this moment.

With his contract expiring, it would be great for the £37.1 million addition to have a big end to the season.
