Bruno Fernandes was the matchwinner as Manchester United managed to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2.

Club captain Bruno Fernandes scored a second half penalty to help see off Nottingham Forest and earn a hard fought win.

Manchester United conceded two goals in the first four minutes to leave fans wondering if anything could possibly go right this season.

Little by little, United clawed back into the game, and goals from Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes eventually sealed a 3-2 win.

Bruno Fernandes leads comeback

Bruno Fernandes created Manchester United’s second goal with an assist for Casemiro, before stepping up to score a spot-kick to give the team the lead.

Fernandes was praised by manager Erik ten Hag following the win, who said he played at the ‘highest level’.

The midfielder’s display showed quality and character, leading his side to come from behind to seal all three points.

Juan Mata impressed

Fernandes’ performance caught the eye of former teammate Juan Mata, who previously wore his current number eight shirt.

Via an Instagram comment in reaction to Fernandes’ performance, Mata praised the current United star as ‘the best’.

This win will lift the mood for United, at a crucial time. There is a big week ahead with the transfer window set to close next Friday.

Hopefully Fernandes and co will have a few new teammates by this time next week.
