Jadon Sancho’s public rebuttal of Erik ten Hag’s comments, about his lack of intensity in training, has caused a storm on social media.

The English winger, who joined the club from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, posted his rebuttal to the Dutchman’s comments and believes he is being ‘scapegoated’ at United.

According to ESPN, however, Ten Hag reportedly is sticking by his comments made about the 23-year-old, and United could well open disciplinary proceedings against Sancho.

The Englishman had a couple of positive moments in pre-season and looked decent in the opening three games but he wasn’t spectacular during these games.

Ten Hag to wield the axe again

When Cristiano Ronaldo went on Piers Morgan Uncensored, the backlash from the interview was mammoth.

The Portuguese forward outlined why he didn’t feel respected by Ten Hag as he was a substitute throughout the early months of the season.

Well, Ronaldo saw his contract terminated and he joined Al-Nassr in January and you wonder if something similar could happen to Sancho.

Marcus Rashford once turned up for a team meeting late and was dropped for the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers in December.

Rashford came on, scored and pushed on throughout that season and scored 30 goals.

What will happen with Sancho

There have been a plethora of examples over the past year of players who have come back from criticism or lack of game time to prove the Dutchman wrong.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka may well be the biggest example of this. Diogo Dalot was the clear first choice but the Englishman worked hard and won his place back and is now the undisputed first choice for United.

Sancho may well knuckle down and win his place back although, with this public statement from the Englishman, it seems unlikely that this will be the case.

You wonder, with the Saudi Pro League transfer window closing soon if a move away could be possible.
