Ruben Amorim has made all the right noises since taking over at Manchester United and while the results will ultimately dictate everything, he’s off to a good start.
His first press conference was an unqualified success with talks about a new role for some Man Utd players, clearly telling what needs to be better at Old Trafford, and more.
There has been something to chew on for everybody, with directions for the staff, hints for the players, quotes for the journalists, and hope for Man Utd fans.
Now, another batch of people have received some comments from Ruben Amorim which could be very good news for them-

Ruben Amorim’s Man Utd’s ‘project’
Fans could be forgiven for feeling scared when a Man Utd manager talks about the ‘project’, as Erik ten Hag’s pleas for patience are still fresh in their minds.
Going further back, Louis van Gaal’s continuous talking about “philosophy” while his team was putting supporters to sleep on the pitch remains in the mind.
Fortunately, Amorim’s latest comments expanding on United’s “project” are more hopeful than those two examples and backed by facts.
Speaking in the embargoed section of his press conference ahead of the Ipswich Town game, Amorim revealed a key part of his project at Old Trafford.
He said: “Nowadays, you need young guys from the academy for everything, to bring that history of the club because they feel the club in a different way.
“But also because you have all these rules with financial fair play when a player from our academy is so much different [worth more in FFP] to the players we sell – that we bought and that we sell. So everything is connected, I will try to help all the players and especially the young ones.
“It’s the project of Manchester United.”
Ruben Amorim’s assertion is backed by facts
Unlike Jose Mourinho, Amorim didn’t need to bring in a list of graduates he made a debut to at his first United press conference!
That is because, in his short career at the top level, he has already developed a long list of players who are thriving at the top level, mostly at Sporting.
Sporting players Amorim gave a debut to consists of many world-class players or some who are destined to reach there, like Geovany Quenda, for starters, linked to United.
United’s academy is going through a golden spell too and right away, he called a lot of youngsters to his first United training, albeit that was down to the unavailability of senior players due to the international break.
Still, it speaks to the willingness of the manager to involve youth players in first-team activities and accelerate their development which stands in good stead for the future.
United are the premier club in England when it comes to giving youth opportunities and that is partly why Erik ten Hag will be remembered fondly at the club.
Amorim looks to be cut from the same cloth in the best possible way.
