Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund had a mixed time of it on international duty.

Injury prevented Rasmus Hojlund from joining up with the Denmark team on the September international break.

Hojlund was fit to be called up for the October internationals – but the Danish coaching staff were deliberately careful with his management.

And Denmark manager Lars Knudsen has offered a positive assessment on where Hojlund is at.

Denmark manager delivers Hojlund verdict

Denmark manager Lars Knudsen has now delivered his verdict on the Manchester United striker, after working with him closely.

Knudsen told Bold that Hojlund’s return to peak fitness is a gradual process.

He explained: “Rasmus must have the opportunity to really play his way back into his highest gear, and he is well on his way.”

Knudsen added: “Rasmus is a fantastic player, and he delivers a fine effort. He has a really high level. You have to remember that he has only just come back.

“This was only his third start this season, and he has basically missed an entire preseason.”

Erik ten Hag has to choose between Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee for Manchester United’s match against Brentford at the weekend.

But there are other fixtures to plan for too, with games against Fenerbahce, West Ham, and Leicester to play before the end of the month.
