David De Gea has officially departed Manchester United after 12 years at the club today after months of speculation.
The Old Trafford icon made 545 appearances for the club keeping 190 clean sheets which is an absolutely fantastic record and is a record for a goalkeeper at the club.

He was pivotal as United won the Premier League, FA Cup, Europa League and two Carabao Cups during his time.
In addition, De Gea won two golden glove awards and a record four Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year awards (fan voted) and also four Players’ Player of the Year awards.
Immediate reaction from his teammates
Following the announcement a multitude of messages came in supporting the United legend as he embarks on a new journey.
De Gea posted on Instagram to wish his goodbyes, and received a lot of support from his peers.
Current United vice-captain, Bruno Fernandes who shared a brilliant friendship with De Gea responded to the post on Instagram with a heart warming message.

Bruno told his now former teammate, “You will always be a legend at this football club” followed by a heart emoji showing the love the Portuguese midfielder had for his goalkeeper.
Bruno also posted on his Instagram story saying, “You know what I think about you and how much I will miss you bro”. He then seemingly took a swipe at the manner in which his friends contract situation was handled by United.
Bruno wrote, “You deserved to say goodbye at the stadium with all the fans cheering you for all the beautiful memories”.
Former Red, Juan Mata also replied to the post, with a sad face and a heart, Mata emphatically commented “LEGEND”.
De Gea without a doubt is a club legend, and while the ending was bitter, the first 10 years were very sweet. Thank you David.
