Harry Maguire is desperate for one thing at Manchester United. He may actually get his wish against Brighton this weekend.
Harry Maguire. A peculiar case as a Manchester United player. It looked destined that the England international would become a vital player, leader and captain at Old Trafford, but things took a very bleak turn.
He now finds himself as a fourth-choice centre-half, despite his £80m price tag. Erik ten Hag clearly doesn’t rate him, which was evident in trying to ship him out of the squad this summer.
Nevertheless, he stayed at Old Trafford and now is in the same predicament ‘fighting for his place’ that he was a year ago.

Maguire wants game time
Although still a regular starter for England, Maguire has fallen well out of favour at United. The 30-year-old is unhappy with this, obviously wanting game time in what should be the peak of his career.
He told the Daily Express: “I know, at the moment, when I have not started a game in the first four games of the season, the story comes to me. I want to play games, I want to play football.”
Well, he may just get his wish this weekend as United take on Brighton.

Martinez a doubt for Saturday
According to The Telegraph, Lisandro Martinez is a doubt for United against Brighton. This is due to the injury he picked up in the 3-1 defeat against Arsenal.
Raphael Varane is also injured, which means we’re likely to go back to a Ole Gunnar Solksjaer-esque pairing of Victor Lindelof and Maguire.
It is somewhat baffling to think of all the money United have spent, yet five games into the season – this is the pair that will most likely lineup.
Neverthless, we have to our faith in them. Let’s hope they can do the business against the Seagulls.
