Diogo Dalot is delighted with the form Manchester United’s youngsters have shown in recent weeks.
It was a difficult start to the season for Manchester United but it appears a corner has been turned in 2024.
Erik ten Hag’s side have yet to lose since the turn of the year and have only not won on one occasion, a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
A key factor in their upturn in results has been the fantastic form of young trio Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
After taking time to settle in at Old Trafford, Hojlund is starting to show his potential and has scored in the last six matches.
Garnacho has become a regular starter and is doing really well on the unnatural right flank while teenager Mainoo has been a revelation in the middle of the park.
The combative midfielder is already getting shouts to be in the England squad for the Euros he has impressed so much.
Diogo Dalot believes the trios’ form is what United is ‘all about’ but also has a stark warning for them.

Diogo Dalot has a warning for Man United’s exciting youngsters
The 24-year-old told Goal in an exclusive interview: “I think it’s what this club is about.
“Bringing through people from the academy and trying to make these long-term signings where you can develop and become great football players at the club.
“This is just a little showcase of what we can have in the future.”
But his positivity came with words of caution: “Obviously in football you don’t take anything for granted, one year you can be the best, in the other year you can disappear.
“We are talking about these three players, but we have a few more in the club that are very well guided and had a lot of support during their journey when they were kids.
“When I signed, I was 19. I was their age and I felt it then. It’s a tough world, a tough club to be at, but you have to be structured mentally and really well prepared for the biggest stage.”
Good words to hear
Dalot knows from personal experience that a career at United can be a stop-start affair.
The Portuguese arrived as a teenager under Jose Mourinho and looked close to breaking into the team until the manager was sacked.
Dalot wasn’t fancied much by his replacement Ole Gunnar Solskajer and spent time out on loan at AC Milan in the 2020/21 season.
However, he has now grown into a regular figure in Ten Hag’s side and is currently enjoying a strong run of form.
Hojlund, Mainoo and Garnacho won’t play as well as they currently are forever. There will be dips and difficult periods.
When that time comes, it’s crucial a player of Dalot’s experience will be there to lend helpful advice to get them through it.
