‘I can guarantee…’ Diogo Dalot makes bold 10-year Ruben Amorim prediction at Man Utd

Ruben Amorim has been at Manchester United for just over two months and during that time, Diogo Dalot has been untouchable in the squad.

Amidst all the rotation, Diogo Dalot has retained his place in the first XI, a testament to his versatility and the trust Ruben Amorim has in his abilities to make the best out of a bad situation.

Dalot’s time as a left wing-back hasn’t always been pleasant, but he’s become a victim of his own versatility and availability, having to start consistently in a position that’s not his in a new system.

However, the Portuguese ace has now ‘guaranteed’ that the future is bright for Man Utd, making a bold prediction for Amorim in the process.

Diogo Dalot’s Ruben Amorim prediction

Amorim has ruffled some feathers at Old Trafford in his short time in charge, leading many Man Utd fans to worry about how an infamously fragile dressing room will receive him.

Amorim’s comments on Marcus Rashford have been particularly brutal but if Diogo Dalot’s comments on him are any indication, the Man Utd manager has the full backing of the squad.

In an interview with Owen Hargreaves for the Premier League Masterclass series (via Man Utd official website), Dalot said that he hopes Amorim stays at the club for the next ten years, making a bold prediction in the process.

Dalot said: “I hope this manager stays for 10 years and we can build a new Man United history with trophies and wins. That will arrive, I can guarantee you.

“If it’s now or in the future, I can guarantee this club will win again. I am 100 per cent sure of it. It’s too big not to.”

Winds of change at Man Utd

It feels weird to say this about a manager who’s won four games in 12 in the Premier League, but something seems to have shifted under Ruben Amorim.

It helps that he’s Ineos’ man through and through, so there are no mitigating factors as there were when Erik ten Hag was in charge when it came to sacking the manager.

To add to it, Amorim has instantly installed an identity and seems to have mastered the art of managing the media to create a siege mentality at the club.

That is reflected in the comments toward him by the players, this one by Dalot another example of the same. Amorim is here for the long haul and needs to be backed to do his thing.

Dalot is all-in.
