Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has praised Erik ten Hag and Manchester United’s midfield ahead of Sunday’s game.
Howe is set to bring his Magpies side to Old Trafford in United’s first home Premier League game for over a month.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Howe was asked about Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes and hailed their quality.
He also said he has no doubt Ten Hag will turn United around and said that he has seen some good signs of progress at Old Trafford lately.

Howe on Ten Hag and United
“They’ve got outstanding individual players and a very, very good manager, who I think will do a great job there,” said Howe.
“Whenever there is change at a football club, it can be difficult at the start, but they’ve got top quality players and a top quality manager.
“Erik’s philosophy, I loved watching his team at Ajax and he built the club to a very, very strong position when he left.”
When asked about Casemiro, Eriksen and Fernandes, he said: “Technically, they’re excellent players, they’re very creative. But it’s not just those players, further forward they’ve got world-class players in every position.”
Newcastle have already given Liverpool and Manchester City really good games this season, losing in the 97th minute at Anfield and getting a 3-3 draw from the champions.
That shows the level of challenge United can expect tomorrow and they must be more clinical than they were in midweek to win.
Howe has had around a year in the job now and has transformed Newcastle and Ten Hag will hope for similar change when he reaches that milestone.
United need another win here to keep the momentum rolling as they return to league action at home after a run of away games.
