Manchester United’s latest signing Wout Weghorst will be hoping to make his Red Devils debut in tonight’s rearranged Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
Having completed his loan move for the remainder of the campaign from Championship leaders Burnley on Friday night, the 30-year-old could make his bow for the Reds at Selhurst Park.
United’s new number 27 was at Old Trafford to watch his new teammates beat Manchester City 2-1 on Saturday, and undertook his first training session at Carrington the following day.
And with question marks once again surrounding Anthony Martial‘s fitness, the 19-time Netherlands international could feature against Patrick Vieira’s Eagles with Erik ten Hag being short of options upfront.
How Wout Weghorst fared on his only previous appearance against Crystal Palace

The 6ft 6in marksman has already experienced playing at Selhurst Park during his time with Burnley.
Weghorst played the full 90 minutes as the Clarets, who were managed by Sean Dyche at the time, drew 1-1 against the Londoners in February last year.
The towering Dutchman won four of his five aerial duels that day and had 46 touches, as well as registering two tackles, one interception and blocking one shot, as per SofaScore.
Weghorst, who moved to Turf Moor from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in January 2021, came close to scoring his second goal for the Clarets against Palace, but he was denied by fellow Manchester United loan signing Jack Butland.
Weghorst produced a goal-bound bullet header from a corner, but Butland showed great reflexes to tip Weghorst’s header over the bar much to the striker’s disbelief.
Butland isn’t eligible to form part of Ten Hag’s matchday squad tonight due to him facing his parent club.
While Weghorst is yet to open his goalscoring account against Palace, he has netted against Palace defender Joachim Anderson when the pair were playing their trade in the Eredivisie.
In December 2016, Weghorst scored AZ Alkmaar’s opener in a 2-1 win away to Andersen’s FC Twente.
In the reverse fixture of the 2016-17 Eredivisie campaign, Alkmaar once again came out on top 2-1, but instead of Weghorst getting on the scoresheet it was Andersen’s turn to hit the back of the net before the Denmark international was given his marching orders after picking up his second yellow card.
Palace’s number 16 has started 17 of his side’s 18 Premier League games so far this weekend, but after going off during the first half of Palace’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday the 26-year-old is a doubt for tonight’s clash, which could see the Danish centre-back come up against the imposing Weghorst once again.
