Rasmus Hojlund’s brother faced Manchester United in the UEFA Youth League. Here’s how he fared.
Hojlund’s 18-year-old brother Emil started for Copenhagen’s U19s today, in a tense UEFA Youth League fixture that ended, unfortunately for the young Red Devils 1-0 to Copenhagen.
Manchester United also had some familiar faces featuring. Dan Gore and, more importantly, Kobbie Mainoo featured – with the latter playing his first minutes since his brutal injury.
But how did the big Danish forward’s brother fare in the fixture? He definitely made his mark.

Emil Hojlund vs Manchester United
Emil started up top for Copenhagen, as the central striker in a 4-3-3 formation.
The 18-year-old looked lively from the off, with a few neat touches in the first ten – but nothing major.
Throughout the first half, he also had two decent opportunities that weren’t taken – which then led to a pretty poor second half from him.
He was eventually substituted after 76 minutes.

He shows shades of his brother
Although he didn’t score, he definitely made his mark on the game, and had he taken his first-half chances – he’d have definitely been spoken about amongst fans.
He is a mix of a target man and a deep-lying forward, who likes to link up play. He’s a big lad for his age who is comfortable in the physical duels and knows how to use his body well to gain an advantage.
He used this effectively today when he was on the pitch.
Will Hojlund’s brother play tonight?
Emil definitely won’t feature after starting the Youth League fixture – but his other brother Oscar could certainly do so.
He’s been confirmed in the first-team squad, meaning we could see a family affair on the pitch at Old Trafford tonight.
