How many wins/points do Manchester United need to secure a top-four and the elusive Champions League spot in the Premier League?
Manchester United never make it easy for themselves. What looked a certainty a few weeks ago, now Erik ten Hag‘s side finds them battling it out again for a Champions League spot this year.
Liverpool are hot on their heels. After their victory against Brentford, they sit just one point behind the Red Devils.
However, United do have two games in hand. So this begs the question – how many points/wins do they need to secure their ideal finish? Find out all you need to know below.

How many wins/points to secure top four and a Champions League spot?
Manchester United have a total of four games left. This means the maximum amount of points they can end the season with would be 75.
In order to fully guarantee a Champions League spot, United need to accumulate at least 72 points. This will see them finish above Liverpool, even if they win their remaining three fixtures.
But even this may not be enough if Brighton wins all six of their games, putting them on 73. Looking at their remaining fixtures, this does seem unlikely.
They could even potentially finish third, however, Newcastle’s results heavily depend on this. The Magpies currently sit two points ahead of them, with the same amount of fixtures remaining.

Here is the full list of remaining fixtures ten Hag’s men face in the Premier League:

- Bournemouth vs Manchester United
