Manchester United are still in with a shot at Champions League knockout stage qualification.

Despite a poor start with defeats to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray, a win against Copenhagen at home has given hope for Manchester United in the Champions League.

It’s not the best position imaginable, but it’s still definitely possible to qualify.

Manchester United can certainly still qualify for the Champions League knockout stages.

As it stands

United have three points ahead of matchday four, in third spot in Group A.

This would currently result in United qualifying for the Europa League, with Galatasaray and Bayern Munich taking the knockout round spaces, and Copenhagen crashing out.

They are currently just a point behind Galatasaray, but six behind Bayern Munich.

What United need to qualify

If Manchester United win their remaining three matches they will be through to the knockouts, however, they can also afford to drop points depending on other results.

Bayern Munich are set to run away with things. They currently sit six points ahead, meaning it will be a tall task to catch them.

This means victories in Copenhagen and Galatasaray are crucial, and six points from those two matches would leave Ten Hag’s side in the top two heading into their final group game.

United could potentially lose to Bayern Munich and still be alright. However, they may need a favour from the German giants – particularly in the next fixture.

Harry Kane could seriously help Manchester United out

If Munich beat Galatasaray this evening, then United can progress with the two wins in their next two games.

This means a failed summer signing could certainly help United out tonight.

Harry Kane was heavily rumoured via Sky Sports to move to Old Trafford last summer but opted for Germany instead.

He’s been tearing it up in Munich, with 15 goals in his last 10 games. He could help United out big time tonight with a few more goals.

A win apiece for United and Bayern would put both clubs in the ascendancy, with Galatasaray away being the big one for United.
