Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford were both second-half substitutes for England against Costa Rica on Wednesday night.
England continued preparations for the World Cup with a 3-0 win over Costa Rica on Wednesday night.
Manchester United’s duo of Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford emerged for the last 26 minutes or so of the game.
It would seem that neither are starters this tournament under Thomas Tuchel, but they have proven their worth to the squad with their performances in the friendlies.
Here is how both fared in the cameo against Costa Rica.

Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford impress for England in cameo
The two Carrington graduates came off the bench and impacted the game in their own ways.
Marcus Rashford: Barely put a foot wrong after replacing Anthony Gordon, with one magical moment seeing him beat a couple of defenders before just being unable to finish the move off after being crowded out. He also should have had an assist if Ollie Watkins had finished a big chance.
He also worked hard for the team, winning his only tackle, and won four duels out of four attempts.
Rashford looked so sharp on the wing. This is a player United should be welcoming back this summer in his current form.
Rashford got a SofaScore rating of 7.1/10.
Kobbie Mainoo: Tuchel will have a real headache over Mainoo, as United’s prodigal midfielder looked arguably like the best midfielder to feature in the game.
He completed 13/13 passes with his 16 touches on the ball, with one dribble. Mainoo ran the midfield all on his own, controlling the tempo and doing the defensive side of the game perfectly while also creating for his teammates with one key pass.
Mainoo won four duels, made two recoveries, and made three defensive contributions.
Mainoo earned a 7.3/10 rating on SofaScore, a testament to his brilliance. There is definitely an argument that he could take Elliot Anderson’s place.
