Andreas Pereira continues to shine during his loan spell in Brazil and the midfielder got an assist in Flamengo’s latest win.

The Manchester United loanee assisted his loan side’s opener in the 3-0 win against Fortaleza.

The win ensured Flamengo stayed in touch with league leaders Atletico MG who had both Hulk and Diego Costa scoring for them yesterday.

Flamengo are 11 points behind the leaders with two games in hand.

Playing in the attacking midfielder role, it was Pereira’s fourth straight start for the Brazilian giants.

The 25-year-old now has two goals and one assist from his seven Brazilian Serie A matches.

His importance to the Flamengo side continues to grow with every passing game.

Following Flamengo’s win, Pereira posted on his Instagram profile which translates: “Important victory in the search of Brasileirao. Now it’s time to focus on the Maracana game on Wednesday and look for another victory.

“Let’s always believe. See you there nation.”

Following Pereira’s assist for Pedro, the one-time Brazil international finished the match with three key passes, the most of any player on the pitch (WhoScored).

The midfielder had 56 touches and completed 31 of his attempted 37 passes (84%) as well as winning three tackles.

With Flamengo fighting on all fronts, Pereira is peaking at the right time for his loan side.
