Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dropped some serious Manchester United revelations on Wednesday, now Gabby Agbonlahor has reacted.

Manchester United‘s squad has long been thought to have an attitude problem, and now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that – at least when he was there – there was.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Ole explained that some players in his team had refused to take the captain’s armband when offered.

This shows a real weakness in character and now Gabby Agbonlahor has reacted with utter disbelief.

Speaking on Thursday morning on talkSPORT’s breakfast show (7.15 am) with Alan Brazil and Agbonlahor, the latter brought up Ole’s Stick to Football appearance.

Particularly he raised the issue of United players being unwilling to take the captain’s armband for United, this was something that left Agbonlahor annoyed.

“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer coming out and saying that some of the Manchester United players didn’t want the captaincy.

“Does that surprise you with the way they’ve been playing? Before him, after him. How can you turn down the captain’s armband at Manchester United? How?”

“It’s bonkers,” Brazil added.

Agbonlahor continued, “There was more than one he said ‘A few players turned down the captaincy at Manchester United’.

Finally, he concluded, “Wild.”

While there are some aspects of the club which haven’t been fixed in the years since Ole, this is something which has been, with Erik ten Hag blessed with a group of experienced and leadership quality filled players, such as his captain Bruno Fernandes.

The leadership group for United is pretty substantial right now with several players having the personality to take the armband and also to lead by example.

With the characters currently in the squad, there would certainly be no shortage of players willing to take on the armband.

Ole played a big part in this signing the likes of Bruno and Raphael Varane and so he will likely be please with the change he implemented at the club.
