Brandon Williams starred once again for Ipswich Town as they continued their extraordinary start to the EFL Championship season under Kieran McKenna.
The on-loan Manchester United left-back has been a revelation for the East Anglian side so far this season and this loan move seems to have done Brandon Williams the world of good.
The defender, according to Sofascore, was given a 7.4 man-of-the-match rating for the Championship side in their crucial 1-0 win over Bristol City.
Perhaps Erik ten Hag will be looking enviably at Kieran McKenna’s side as Williams, with United’s injury issues, may well have been the perfect player to deputise for the Red Devils.

Williams’ performance
The defender completed 71% of his passes, won 100% of his tackles made five clearances and won 14 of the duels he contested in.
It’s been quite the turnaround for the Englishman who seemed to be out in the cold for United under Ten Hag as he featured for the under-21 side throughout the majority of last season.
Earlier this month, the former United coach, now manager in the Championship, was full of praise for the defender.
“He’s getting back towards the levels that I know he’s capable of,” McKenna said, “but I think more importantly it’s about pushing him past those levels because he’s young and hopefully he’s got some good years in his career and big moments ahead of him.”
Williams to be a United first-team player
When the loan expires with Ipswich next summer, the question will inevitably be should the defender be given more opportunities in the United first team.
The harsh reality is that United have a lot of depth at full-back, once their first-choice defenders return, and Williams would not make many appearances for the Red Devils.
What seems more likely, however, is that the left-back moves permanently to the Championship side, perhaps if they can achieve promotion to the Premier League.
